Exams, speeches, essay-writing competitions (even this blog TBH) – I’ve always prepared for these thoroughly. At the last minute. And let’s face it, no matter how many months, or years, we put into planning and preparing and planning again, we always save a few things for the end. Incidentally, these few things have the power to turn the whole gig upside down, which is exactly why you need to read on to discover the six last-minute strategies for promoting your event. Even as you read this blog, some website in some corner of the world is coming up with an extremely innovative feature or scheme that is reshaping the virtual world in a significant way. For presenters, today, Facebook pages and YouTube channels are not sufficient to promote your event because, let’s face it, EVERYONE is doing it. So, if you wish to be a step ahead with online promotions, here are 5 digital marketing trends that you MUST be aware of – Continue reading
Irrespective of whether you have a factory or an e-commerce website, one of the best ways to build an appreciable network of customers is by organizing events. Events are to the corporate world what holidays are to families – you know your people are out there, but it’s only during the holidays that you actually bond with them and have any intimate contact whatsoever. If you, as a businessman (or woman; the last thing I would want is people suing me for sex discrimination) wish to actually communicate with your customers and have an outsider’s view on your work, you need to plan an event, drive people to attend it and track your progress. Continue reading
Alright, maybe the e-xpansion was stupid, but it was worth a try. And so are the tips mentioned in this blog to grow your email database and as an innocent consequence, boost your ticket sales (here’s when I say “what up!” Barney Stinson style). According to a few researches (I still wonder who does them, but they come in handy when you’re writing something like this, so, keep up the good work, guys!), almost 35% of event managers answered “email” when asked what was the most effective marketing strategy for event promotion. The rest of them replied “social media”, “banner ads”, “mouth-to-mouth” (marketing, d’uh!) and everything else that most of you have already read volumes on. So, this one’s for the soul of Bloody Mary who has been dying over the past ten years over and over again in cursed email chains – Continue reading
If you think tweeting “Got an event comin up. So damn excited 2 c all of u thr! :D” is creating a buzz, let me burst that bubble and tell you that we’re way past inventing the wheel, fire, and definitely social media marketing. The best way (that also happens to be the only one) to create a buzz about your upcoming event is not a cakewalk, definitely. But what good would we be doing if we didn’t make a walk through the rocks look like a cakewalk? Continue reading
For all event organizers, rookies or oldies, social media marketing is the one shot they HAVE to take. Come on, who doesn’t put up their upcoming event on Facebook? It’s the most obvious thing to do when you think of social media marketing. And that’s exactly why it’s a problem – it’s too obvious, which means, everyone else is doing it. If you have to ace this marketing strategy for your event, you have to upturn every little pebble you spot, and the least we can do is show you where the pebbles are. Now, that’s exactly where THE checklist comes into picture. Continue reading
We’ve had enough of the regular Facebook and Twitter, and it’s high time we realized there’s a lot more to social media marketing than just blue and blue birds. While Instagram is giving its own edge to the hashtags, Pinterest has come out as a whole new concept on its own involving boards and pins, reminding you of high school. And we tell you exactly what it takes to be a famous cheerleader in this high school by using Pinterest the right way! Continue reading

Yapsody finally introduces the revolutionary Philippines based payment gateway – Dragonpay – that is all set to turn over new leaves that promise to blossom in the world of online payments. For all of you who’ve been living with the credit-hack-o-phobia (paranoia that makes you commit naïve acts of closing all adjoining tabs, clearing browsing data, disabling cookies, uninstalling and reinstalling your browser while making an online payment through your credit card), here finally is a secure payment gateway that guarantees you (a presenter) and you (a customer) a level of security that is unimaginable in the chaotic situation we deal with when it comes to net banking and credit cards. The YapsodyScan App (or YapScan) was introduced for Android phones because we wished to extend our support to all our presenters and make ticket validation an easier process for them. Well, that was the plan, anyway. We, atYapsody, don’t think progress is made by flaunting what we’ve done. We also accept our flaws and rectify them, which led us to releasing this brand-new version of YapScan, your handy Ticket Scan App, redesigned for our presenters right from scratch!
WHAT IT DOES
Gone are the days of placing hefty, suited-up security guards at the entrances to validate your attendees. With the newYapScan update, you can easily validate your entrees by scanning QR codes, manually entering names or e-ticket numbers or using gestures to scroll through your list of attendees. Plus, all data is synced real-time between your device and Yapsody servers to prevent the same ticket from being used for multiple entries and to make sure that even last-minute sales are validated.
WHAT IT DOES, WELL, PART TWO!
YapScan is a big cardboard box filled with all these amazing candies
- Ticket validation by:
– Scanning QR codes printed on e-tickets.
– Manually entering names of attendees.
– Manually entering ticket numbers.
- Real-time syncing between your devices and Yapsody servers to make sure that
– No same ticket is used for multiple entries.
– Last-minute tickets are also validated.
- Easy viewing of attendance statistics right on your device.
- Allow every staff (with a separate login credential) the permission to validate tickets online on a person-to-person basis.
- The “unscanning” function can be allotted to a specific management staff by issuing separate permissions for the same.
- Scanning access for a specific event can be restricted on a person-to-person basis.
- If an event allows multiple entries, the number of scans/check-ins per ticket can be preset.
- You can set alerts for different types of tickets. For example, for adult tickets, your entry staff will be alerted to check IDs of attendees for age proof.
- The scan time for your staff can be preset.
- Offline Scanning, that is, all data pertaining to your event will be downloaded and saved to your device. So, even if your connection goes off, you can still continue scanning. Sync with the Yapsody servers will be restored the moment the connection is back on.
All of this aside, you know what the best part is? This box of candies is ABSOLUTELY FREE! And so are our General Admission events. So, sign up now and set up free online ticketing for your event! Happy Ticketing!
